Concord police aiming to alleviate gang activity

CONCORD (KRON)—Concord police arrested nine people and seized drugs Friday night in an effort to crack down on gang activity citywide, according to police.

The police department says it received several complaints from residents from different parts of the city about gang activity.

Police contacted about 80 people to find out what areas of Concord gang members are known to hang out and conduct illegal activities.

These connections helped lead to the arrests of nine people as well as dozens of parole and probation searches, police said.
