San Mateo police investigate gang related shooting leaving one person injured

SAN MATEO (KRON) — San Mateo police are investigating a shooting, that injured one victim and involving multiple suspects.

The shooting occurred at 8:40 p.m. in the 600 block of Patricia Avenue in San Mateo, according to police.

Four male suspects entered the side yard of a residence, one them armed with a gun, approached a 22-year-old victim and opened fire.

Police said the victim was shot in the leg, and has sustained a non-life threatening injury.

The police believe this was not a random shooting and believe it to be gang related, and the suspect specifically targeted.
