Suspect arrested after fatal stabbing in Richmond

RICHMOND (BCN) — A man was fatally stabbed in Richmond on Friday evening and a suspect was arrested early the next day, police said Monday.

Richmond police officers initially responded at about 6:45 p.m. Friday to a report of a man brandishing a knife in the 4100 block of Overend Avenue.

The reporting party was also the victim and was found at the scene bleeding from a stab wound in his upper torso, police said.

The victim, identified by police as 38-year-old Richmond resident Eaen Lamont Hale, died at the scene.

Investigators established that Keylen Malik Dunn, 26, of Richmond, was a suspect in Hale’s stabbing, police said.

A warrant was issued for his arrest Friday and he was taken into custody just after midnight Saturday with the help of San Pablo police.

No other information about the case was immediately available from Richmond police.
