Suspect arrested for hit-and-run, evading police in Menlo Park

MENLO PARK (KRON) — A 36-year-old man was arrested on Monday afternoon, accused of hit-and-run and failing to pull over for a motorcycle officer, according to Sgt. Scott Mackdanz.

Police said the incident happened at around noon at the intersection of Hamilton Avenue between Willow Road and Carlton Avenue. An officer tried to pull over the driver of a gold GMC Yukon but he did not stop, Mackdanz said.

The driver hit another car and ran away from the scene, according to police. Police found the suspect, identified as Kini Evaimalo of East Palo Alto, and arrested him.

The suspect was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Evaimalo was booked into San Mateo County Jail for felony hit-and-run, evading police, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving with a suspended license.

The driver hit sustained minor injuries.

The motorcycle officer also had non-life threatening injuries in the incident.
