OAKLAND (KRON)— Two westbound lanes of the San Mateo Bridge will be closed for five consecutive nights beginning on Tuesday.
Maintenance crews will start work at 7 p.m. and go through 5 a.m. on July 12, 13, 14, and 15.
Only one lane will close at 7 p.m., then a second will close at 10 p.m.. The third lane will remain open at all times
The repair work hours will change on Saturday, July, 16 to 7 p.m. through 9 a.m.
The California Department of Transportation says it is making permanent repairs to the bridge.
A hole opened up in June on the westbound deck, and workers were not able to repair it using a simple patch job. Crews did put a metal plate over the hole, so it was safe to reopen traffic.
