FREMONT (KRON) — A 4-year-old boy was saved from a near-drowning accident at a Lake in Fremont on Saturday.
Police received a call reporting a possible drowning at Lake Elizabeth involving a young boy who had been pulled form the lake without guardians around, police said.
According to police, the boy had been playing at a nearby playground and was separated from his parents.
A nearby citizen witnessed the boy playing on rocks near the shore when he suddenly fell into the water and did not resurface.
The citizen was able to reach in and pull the child from the murky water after he had been submerged for approximately 10 seconds, according to police.
The child was not injured during the incident and was reunited with his father, who had been looking for him.
The boy was checked by Fremont firefighters before leaving with his family.
