PALO ALTO (KRON) — A woman found dead in her Palo Alto home last week has been identified as 65-year-old Jenny Shi and the case is being investigated as a homicide, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office.
An autopsy found Shi died of multiple stab wounds. Detectives have no significant leads but said it is likely the suspect knew the victim, Palo Alto police said.
Shi’s body was found at her residence in the 300 block of Creekside Drive and detectives had treated the case as a suspicious death, police said.
A family member who was looking for Shi and found her body called police dispatch around 7:40 p.m. Thursday, according to police.
Investigators processed the crime scene through the night, on Friday and over the weekend, police said.
Detectives have ruled out suicide and are treating the death as “likely a homicide,” police said.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call police dispatch at (650) 329-2413.
