MORGAN HILL (KRON) — A 55-year-old man was arrested for stabbing his roommate with a knife in Morgan Hill on Friday morning.
On July 15 around 7:35 a.m. Morgan Hill Officers responded to a residence in the 17000 block of Walnut Grove Drive to investigate a report of a male suffering from a stab wound.
Officers arrived on scene, to be told by a female, that the victim was inside the residence with a stab wound to the upper torso.
Officers made entry into the residence and located the 50-year-old male victim in a room. He was suffering from two puncture wounds to his side, according to police Sgt. Carson Thomas.
The victim was awake and bale to speak with the officers.
The victim’s girlfriend told police that the victim and suspect were yelling prior to the stabbing inside the home over an “ongoing issue,” Thomas said.
The officers located the suspect, 55-year-old Raul Garcia of Morgan Hill, inside the residence.
Garcia was taken into custody without incident and arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, according to Thomas.
The victim was transported to San Jose Regional Hospital for medical treatment and sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Based on the investigation, it appears this was an isolated incident between the suspect and the victim.
The suspect, Garcia, believed the victim had committed past injustices to him and his family.
There was no threat to the surrounding area.
