MILPITAS (KRON) — A man and a woman were arrested for vehicle theft and identity theft after being located in a stolen vehicle in Milpitas on Wednesday.
On July 13 at approximately 6:07 a.m., a Milpitas Police Officer located a silver 2015 Kia Optimal rental car parked in the parking lot of Walmart located at 301 Ranch Drive.
A check on the license plate number revealed the vehicle was reported stolen out of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office on July 5.
Officers conducted surveillance on the vehicle and contacted two suspects as they were entering the vehicle.
39-year-old female, Sandra Dian Oliveira of Castro Valley, and 34-year-old male, Noah Forrest Kerran of South San Francisco, were taken into custody without incident.
Kerran was found in possession of the key to the vehicle.
Kerran was was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for auto theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and identity theft.
Oliveira was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for auto theft, auto theft with prior conviction, possession of a stolen vehicle, and identity theft.
During the course of the investigation, officers searched the vehicle and located over 100 pieces of suspected stolen mail, papers containing personal biographical information for several individuals, a credit card reader and computer equipment.
