TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) – A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after a 63-year-old man was found in his car with at least 15 stab wounds and a knife still sticking out of his chest.
The Tallahassee Democrat reports that the teenager is being held without bail on second-degree murder charges in the death of Charles Rich.
Rich was found dead inside his car July 17 in front of Dade Community Center.
The suspect told police that Rich had given him a ride to the community center, propositioned him for sex and, when the boy declined, swung a blade at him. The juvenile says he was able to force the blade into Rich’s torso.
Investigators say Rich’s wounds don’t match the suspect’s account.
The Associated Press generally does not identify juveniles accused of crimes.
