FAIRFIELD (KRON) — A Fairfield man was convicted of having sexual intercourse with an 8-year-old child, according to Solano County District Attorney, Krishna Abrams.
The trial began on July 12, where the victim, who is now 10-years-old, testified against 40-year-old Fabian Salazar Jacobo in court.
On Monday, June 25, Jacobo was convicted of sexual intercourse, sodomy and lewd acts with the victim.
The jury convicted Jacobo despite defense efforts to discredit the victim, police officers, the testimony by a child suggestibility expert and a false confession export, Abrams said.
Jacobo faces a minimum of 50 years in prison when he is sentenced on September 12.
