SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Two Bay Area swimmers have taken home gold medals this summer in the Rio Olympics.
Stanford phenom Katie Ledecky won her fourth gold medal of these games as she dominated the 800-meter freestyle.
The 19-year-old remains perfect in international individual events, winning 15 different times.
Maya Dirado also had a huge night. The 23-year-old from San Francisco pulled off an epic comeback to claim the 200 meter backstroke.
It is the second career gold medal for the Stanford alum.
Along with Michael Phelps, Simone Manuel and more, the Americans have had their fair share of victories in swimming this summer.
