SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – Deputies in Florida say late Wednesday night, 16-year-old Gust Ramgren stabbed his mother Melissa and his 14-year-old brother Charles multiple times.
The Massachusetts family had been vacationing this week on Siesta Key, Florida.
At around 9 p.m., Melissa Ramgren called 911 saying that her son Gust stabbed her and her son Charles and took off.
Soon after a nearby resident called 911 saying that Gust was in their yard asking for help. The teen said his family had just been stabbed.
According to the Probable Cause Affidavit, once deputies arrived they found Charles saying he thought he was going to die. Charles also asked why his brother would do this.
Melissa Ramgren was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital for serious injuries and 14-year-old Charles Ramgren was flown to All Children’s Hospital. He is in critical but stable condition and is expected to survive.
During an interview with authorities, Gust admitted to the crime. He’s been charged with attempted second-degree murder. The investigation is ongoing.
