SOLEDAD (BCN) — A 20-year-old man suspected of shooting two other men outside a home in Soledad late last month was arrested Tuesday, police said.
Jairo Isaiah Chavez was arrested on suspicion of a shooting July 31 shortly before 5:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of West Street, police said.
Two men were talking outside a garage when Chavez allegedly ran by the home and stopped at the driveway, where he took out a firearm and shot multiple rounds at them, police said.
The victims, who were not injured, escaped into the home as the suspect continued west on the sidewalk along West Street, according to police.
Multiple bullet casings were found at the scene, police said.
Investigators were able to identify the suspect as Chavez, who was arrested on a warrant in the 200 block of Fifth Street around 5 p.m. Tuesday with help from the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, according to police.
In the home, officers found a 9mm semi-automatic handgun stolen from Las Vegas, Nevada in 1999 and a .38-caliber revolver registered to a Southern California resident, police said.
