NOVATO (KRON)— Police have arrested an man who was allegedly armed while robbing a bank in Novato Tuesday afternoon.
Officers responded to the robbery around 12:45 p.m. after receiving several reports from witnesses at the Redwood Credit Union on Grant Avenue.
Police found after arriving to the scene that a black man wearing a mask came into the bank armed with a gun.
The suspect demanded money and was pointing his gun at employees before jumping over the counter. He grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from a teller’s drawer and left.
More officers came to help with the investigation and gather information from witnesses.
Authorities were able to get a description of the suspect as well as a description of his getaway car and his license plate number.
Officers were able to locate a suspect using a tracking device and arrest him.
The suspect has been identified as 28–year-old Jacaree Carter of Novato.
Carter has been booked into the Marin County Jail and charged with robbery and use of a firearm during commission of a felony.
