Lafayette police looking for suspected bank robber

LAFAYETTE (KRON)—Police have ended their search for a man suspected of robbing a U.S. Bank in Lafayette Tuesday afternoon.

The Lafayette Police Department and officers from nearby agencies searched for the suspect near the bank on Mt. Diablo Blvd.

A helicopter crew and a K-9 were also called to the scene.

The Lafayette BART station was shut down while authorities looked for the suspect.

Despite all their efforts, police were unable to locate the thief.

The area near the bank is now clear and BART trains at the Lafayette station are now running.

Police are still searching for the man who robbed the U.S. Bank. The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his 30s to 40s wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and a black baseball hat with the words “FOX” in white letters. He is 5 feet 6 inches tall.
