LOS ANGELES (KRON)—The Los Angeles police chief announced Sunday night there is no active shooter at the Los Angeles International Airport.
Chief Andy Neiman tweeted it was just loud noises and no shots were fired.
Multiple people were evacuated from the terminals.
The upper departure level and lower arrival level of the central terminal was closed off.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said “no significant incident” was reported.
The entrance to the airport was blocked off earlier because of the activity, authorities said.
LAX police tweeted about the incident.

Los Angeles police and LAX police responded.
The Federal Aviation Administration issued a security ground stop at the airport until 10 p.m.
Traffic was at a stand-still near the airport.
