SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Spike Lee was one of many to voice his own opinion regarding San Francisco 49ers Colin Kaepernick’s decision to sit while the national anthem is being played in protest of police brutality.
The filmmaker spoke out saying he agrees with what Kaepernick is doing. He even compared the quarterback to Muhammad Ali.
I support him. I find it so interesting how people want to pick and choose what rights people have. Any time you talk about antigun violence, people run around screaming about they don’t want their second amendment rights to be infringed upon. The same way John, Carlos, Tommy Smith raised their black glove fists at the ’68 olympics in Mexico, the same way Muhammad Ali refused to fight for a war that was crazy.
