Jupiter’s aurora seen in infrared image

(KRON) — KRON is getting a new look at the planet Jupiter, and it is certainly something you can’t see from our planet.

Photographs came from NASA showing the planet’s southern aurora.

Because of Jupiter’s orbit, this is the first chance scientists have had to view the southern point in this kind of detail.

A NASA spacecraft snapped these pictures. It is studying how the sun and other sources can influence the auroras.

NASA was also able to record radio emissions from the auroras.

They’ve converted them so people can hear what it sounds like.
