FAIRFIELD (KRON) — Fairfield police have arrested a prowling and burglary suspect on Wednesday with the help of surveillance video.
Police said residents in the 2300 block of Josiah Wing Drive were combing through the video on Saturday when they saw the suspect go up to their home and try to open the front door.
The video also showed a charcoal gray Chrysler parked across the street, and previous footage showed the car driving slowly by the residents’ home several times over the last week, according to police.
The Chrysler drove by the residence during a police stakeout Wednesday and police arrested Christopher Britton, 25, of Fairfield, for prowling.
Police had posted photos on Friday of two suspects in a residential burglary in the 1200 block of Breckinridge Drive, and residents provided information that identified Britton as one of the burglary suspects.
Detectives also reviewed other residential burglary and theft reports and discovered Britton had used stolen credit cards from a separate theft to make purchases throughout Solano County, police said.
Britton was booked into the Solano County Jail on suspicion of burglary, identity theft and prowling, police said.
