MEMPHIS, TN (KRON) — A Tennessee dance coach is accused of having sex with one of his students and exposing him to HIV, according to police.
John Conner III was arrested Friday and charged with statutory rape after police say he had sex with a minor and failed to disclose his HIV status.
According to court documents, 26-year-old Conner met the 16-year-old victim on a social media website.
After meeting, Conner and the victim had unprotected sex several times. Conner did not tell the victim he has HIV, according to the affidavit.
Conner was charged with criminal exposure to HIV, soliciting sexual exploitation of a minor and statutory rape by an authority figure.
