Death of man found in Fairfield considered a homicide

FAIRFIELD (KRON) — Fairfield police say the death of a man, who was found unconscious and not breathing on Monday, is now a homicide, Lt. Rob Lenke said.

Police received a call around 4:45 p.m. about an unresponsive male in the grass in the 1700 block of West Texas Street at Fifth Avenue, Lenke said.

Anyone who was in that area between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Monday is asked to call the Fairfield Police Department at (707) 428-7600.

West Texas Street was closed to eastbound traffic as of 6:15 p.m. while investigators processed the scene for evidence.
