SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A suspicious package that was found at a San Francisco bus stop Thursday morning has been rendered safe, according to the San Francisco Police Department.
Police say it was an abandoned rice cooker.
San Francisco Municipal Railway officials reported the package at 7:27 a.m. at Mission Street and South Van Ness Avenue.
The Police Department’s bomb squad responded and used a robot to investigate the device. Police dogs were also being utilized, according to authorities.
Police shut down the intersection snarling traffic throughout the city.
The package was rendered safe by police by 9:10 a.m.
Authorities determined that the device was some kind of rice cooker.
