CONTRA COSTA COUNTY (BCN) — A home invasion robbery suspect wounded in an exchange of gunfire at a Bay Point residence on Tuesday afternoon has been identified as 31-year-old Gregory Williamson of Ohio, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office.
Williamson is still recovering at a hospital for the gunshot wound but has been charged with kidnapping, robbery and two counts of assault with a firearm, according to the sheriff’s office. A second suspect remains at large.
Deputies found Williamson wounded outside a home in the 100 block of Crivello Avenue in Bay Point when they responded to reports of gunfire there at 1:41 p.m., sheriff’s officials said.
Williamson and another suspect had allegedly held a woman at gunpoint in her driveway and then forced her inside, where they tied up several of the home’s occupants in a room. According to the sheriff’s office,
the residents were selling marijuana out of the home.
Eventually one of the occupants exchanged gunfire with the suspects, and both the resident and Williamson were wounded. The resident was treated for his injuries and released from the hospital.
Once Williamson has recovered, he will be booked into jail in Martinez.
Anyone with information about the robbery has been asked to call the sheriff’s office at (925) 313-2600 or to email firstname.lastname@example.org.
