SAN JOSE (KRON) — San Jose police are investigating a homicide on Jeanne Avenue on Tuesday afternoon, Ofc. Albert Morales said.
The man was found dead just north of Interstate Highway 280 in San Jose Tuesday morning.
Police said they responded to a dead body behind 878 Jeanne Ave. at around 10:19 a.m. When officers arrived, they said they found a man unconscious with stab wounds and not breathing.
The victim died at the scene, police said. The motive and circumstances are still under investigation.
The suspect or suspects remain at large, according to Morales.
This is the city’s 37th homicide of 2016. Eight are believed to be homeless people.
There is a suspect for one, but there is no one accused in the other seven, police said.
“Some of the incidents involved shootings, others involved stabbings, others involved blunt force trauma, and then, we also even had one that was a vehicle was used to run over the victim, so the MOs are totally different,” Sgt. Enrique Garcia said.
