San Mateo man shot while sitting in his car, suspect on the loose

SAN MATEO (KRON) — San Mateo police are investigating a shooting on Friday night in the Shoreview area, according to Sgt. Amanda Von Glahn.

Police said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident. It happened at around 8 p.m., Von Glahn said.

The victim, a 24-year-old man and a San Mateo resident, has non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. The victim was sitting in his car in the 600 block of Rand Street.

The suspect car sped away from the scene, police said.

“Upon notification of the incident, officers flooded the area to conduct a canvass for the suspect vehicle, witnesses, and evidence,” Von Glahn said in a press release.
