VIRAL: Man tapes warning after being mauled by grizzly bear for second time

BOZEMAN, MT (WCMH) — Todd Orr is recovering after he was attacked by a grizzly bear for the second time.

“Ya, he stopped and waved at me to come over, and it was obvious what had happened. He was… had blood all over him,” Chuck Bryant, who was the first person to see Orr after the attack, told KBZK.

According to Orr, the grizzly bear charged him from about 80 yards away and attacked him despite the use of bear repellent spray. Orr was able to protect the back of his neck, but suffered a deep gash to the side of his head where the bear swiped him with her paw.

“I think my arm’s broke, but my legs are good, my internal organs are good, eyes are good,” Orr says in the video. “Be safe out there. Bear spray doesn’t always work, but it’s better than nothing.”

Orr made the viral video after he felt he was safe, but before he went to the hospital.

Orr even declined a ride to the hospital by Bryant and drove himself.

Montana Wildlife officials say there is no plan to kill any bears at this time, since the one that attacked Orr was probably just protecting her cubs. They have, however, closed the trail where Orr was walking.

Bryant told KBZK, he had some advice for hunters: “I’ve about decided, if you have to go in there and you want to hunt, take somebody with you. It could have been a lot worse; he was by himself.”
