SANTA ROSA (KRON) — A Sonoma County inmate sentenced to home confinement custody cut off his electronic ankle bracelet that tracks him, and he is now missing, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Crum.
Michael Christopher Jones, 50, of Santa Rosa, removed the ankle bracelet near the intersection of Marlow Road and Crosspoint Avenue in Santa Rosa around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, Sgt. Crum said.
Jones was in home confinement custody for petty theft, driving on a suspended license and violating a court order, Crum said.
Jones is not considered a threat to the community, but anyone who sees him has been asked to call the sheriff’s dispatch center at (707) 565-2121 or 911.
