SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — October is Domestic Violence Awareness month.
Domestic violence affects more than 12 million people each year here in the United States.
KRON4’s Vicki Liviakis is shedding more light on an issue that has claimed too many lives.
The stats are alarming. Every three seconds, someone is physically abused by an intimate partner.
One in every four women is a victim of domestic violence.
And one in seven men suffers abuse.
But there’s the national domestic violence hotline you can call for help.
A masked ball to unmask domestic violence is happening in San Francisco on Thursday, Oct. 13.
Tickets are available at thehotline.org.
