SANTA CLARA CO. (KRON) — Elderly San Jose woman, known as Miss Flo, has passed away after suffering injuries from when she was brutally beaten when her home was invaded.
Florence “Flo Douglas,” the devout 88-year-old, known as Miss Flo “Mother” Douglas, was a community pillar known for her love of hats, she rarely missed a Sunday service at St. Pail’s Baptist Church.
Miss Flo was hospitalized in critical condition after she was allegedly robbed and beaten by a man in a home invasion robbery at her residence on Cragmont Avenue on September 12.
Since the robbery occurred Miss Flo has been hospitalized, she was suffering from multiple bone fractures and internal hemorrhaging to her eyes and brain and had remained in an intensive care unit in critical condition.

Sheriff’s detectives began canvassing the neighborhood for leads and later arrested 19-year-old Zachary Cuen.
At a community safety meeting, residents learned that Cuen lives nearby and tried to rob another elderly woman last year.
Santa Clara County Police state, “With heavy hearts, we mourn with the community and will ensure justice is served in this murder.”
