Rob Black’s Winners and Losers: Job openings unexpectedly fell in August


SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — On today’s edition of Rob Black’s Winners and Losers, our financial expert Rob Black and KRON 4’s James Fletcher talk about job openings, credit card fraud, and Toyota Prius recalls.

Job openings fell to 5.4 million in August, according to the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey. Openings remain near a record high, and the monthly numbers are frequently revised.

Many Americans are dangerously at risk of being victims of credit card fraud and as many as 41 million U.S. adults have already had their identity stolen, according to a survey of 1,000 adults conducted last month.

Japanese automaker Toyota has launched a global recall of its redesigned Toyota Prius sedan after reports of a potentially deadly defect involving the parking brake. The company is recalling 340,000 units of the Prius globally, including 212,000 in Japan and 92,000 units of the 2016 and 2017 models in the U.S.
