HOUSTON, Texas (KRON) — A former Texas 911 operator is in trouble with the law.
Authorities and callers said she regularly hung up on people who were calling in emergencies.
Back in March, Jim Moten said he called 911 after witnessing two cars speeding down Highway 45. A second into his call, it dropped, or so he thought.
Crenshanda Williams is accused of hanging up on him and others. She also wasn’t chatty when a Houston TV crew showed up at her house to ask her about it.
It angers Moten knowing investigators say she’s done it before. Charging documents say she had an abnormally large number of “short calls” no more than 20 seconds.
Williams is charged with interference with an emergency telephone call.
That is considered a misdemeanor.
