TOPEKA (KSNT) – Representatives from Chipotle Mexican Grill are waiting on a razor blade that was allegedly found in food served at the location in Topeka so they can continue their investigation.

On Sept. 30th, a photo of a Chipotle burrito circulated on social media in the Capital City. The post read, “One of their employees put a razor blade in one of the burritos a friend of mine ordered with a friend. Thankfully her friend pulled it out of her mouth and was unharmed.”

Chris Arnold, the communications director with the national chain, said they are now waiting on that razor blade so they can figure out if it came from their store.

At the end of last month Arnold told KSNT News the company had reached out to the customer, C’Erra Wilson.

“If ever we are contacted regarding an incident like this (a foreign object found), we take that very seriously and conduct a thorough investigation,” Arnold told KSNT News on Wednesday. “This is an isolated incident with a single allegation made late last month and we immediately began an investigation. At this time, we have not received the alleged object, which limits our ability to complete that investigation.”

The store was not closed after the incident but Arnold said the company would,”take any actions that are necessary” pending the results of the investigation.

KSNT News reached out to Wilson and the woman who posted the photo, Caitlin Welsh, but neither replied to our request for comment.
