SANTA CLARA (KRON) — Officials at Santa Clara University said they have identified the students responsible for vandalism at a student housing building, including some apparently drawn with their blood in an elevator.
In a letter to the university community on Wednesday, vice provost for student life Jeanne Rosenberger said investigators identified the students who may be responsible for the vandalism early Saturday at the Casa Italiana building, which also included inflammatory writing on a bulletin board.
The students’ names were not immediately released.
“Following the investigation, there will be a university conduct hearing to determine the appropriate sanctions for anyone found responsible for violating the Student Conduct Code,” Rosenberger wrote.
The university is also investigating how surveillance video from the elevator related to the case was released online, Rosenberger wrote. The video shows two males appearing to smear blood on a wall in the elevator.
The university is holding a forum on Tuesday to discuss the incident and other recent events on campus. The forum is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Mayer Theatre.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Campus Safety Services at (408) 554-4441. People wishing to make an anonymous tip can also visit ethicspoint.com.
