Some Nutrisystem protein bars recalled due to listeria risk


PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A popular type of protein bars are being recalled because they could be contaminated with a dangerous bacterium.

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Nutrisystem bars were sold in several states, including Rhode Island and Massachusetts, as well as online on sites such as and

The chocolate chip cookie dough in the Nutricrush bars may be contaminated with listeria, which can cause serious, even fatal infections.

The recalled products have an “enjoy by” date of Aug. 22, 2017 and a lot code of NF082216A.

The FDA advises consumers to not eat the bars and instead return them for a full refund.

About 3,000 Mamas and Papas Armadillo Flip Strollers are being recalled due to a fall hazard.

The CPSC says a loose latch on the stroller can cause the seat to tip back unexpectedly. The manufacturer has received 10 reports of this happening, but no injuries have been reported.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) urges consumers to stop using the strollers and contact Mamas and Papas for a free repair.

Lastly, we now know the Galaxy Note7 recall is going to cost Samsung more than $5 billion.

As we’ve reported, Samsung expanded the recall after reports of fires in its replacement phones.
