THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR… SOUTHWESTERN SANTA CLARA COUNTY IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA… NORTHEASTERN SANTA CRUZ COUNTY IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA… SPECIFICALLY THE LOMA BURN AREA…

* UNTIL 600 PM PDT SUNDAY

* AT 1002 AM PDT… DOPPLER RADAR AND AUTOMATED RAIN GAUGES INDICATED MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN CONTINUE TO FALL ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. FLASH FLOODING IS POSSIBLE OVER THE WARNED AREA.

EXCESSIVE RAINFALL OVER THE BURN SCAR WILL LIKELY RESULT IN DEBRIS FLOWS. DEBRIS FLOWS CAN CONSIST OF ROCK… MUD… VEGETATION AND OTHER LOOSE MATERIALS.

ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF UP TO 2 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN THE WARNED AREA.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

MOVE AWAY FROM RECENTLY BURNED AREAS. LIFE-THREATENING FLOODING OF CREEKS… ROADS AND NORMALLY DRY ARROYOS IS LIKELY. THE HEAVY RAINS WILL LIKELY TRIGGER ROCKSLIDES… MUDSLIDES AND DEBRIS FLOWS IN STEEP TERRAIN… ESPECIALLY IN AND AROUND THESE AREAS.
