BERKELEY (KRON) — A man is being treated for gunshot wounds that happened in an overnight shooting in Berkeley, according to the police.
On Saturday night, around 11:08 p.m. officers were dispatched to reports of multiple shots fired in the area of Dana and Haste Streets, just south of the University of California Berkeley’s campus.
Officers discovered a 35-year-old male victim lying on the ground after being shot at. Police transferred the male victim to the Alameda County Hospital and he is in critical condition.
According to police, the shooting does not appear to be random, and they are unsure if the victim is affiliated with UC Berkeley.
The investigation is still ongoing, and no arrest have been made. Police do not have a lead on who is the suspect or suspects. Anyone with information on this incident is advised to call the Berkeley Police Department.
