SANTA ROSA (KRON) — A prostitution sting operation led to the arrests of eight men Thursday at a Santa Rosa hotel, according to officials.
On Thursday night, detectives lured the men to a hotel by posing as prostitutes in online ads, and in one case as a teenage girl under 18.
All eight men who arrived at the hotel were arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail before being released on bail, police said.
Roberto Emmanuel Rodriguez, 25 of Petaluma, Jerry Ward, 35 of Santa Rosa, Ramiro Arriago-Romero, 32 of Rohnert Park, and Manuel Ramirez, 48 of Healdsburg were arrested on suspicion of solicitation of a minor for lewd purposes.
Rodriguez, Ward and Arriago-Romero were released on $10,000 bail. Ramirez was arrested on additional suspicion of contacting a minor to commit a felony, and was released on $50,000 bail.
Santa Rosa residents Gabriel Ruiz-Calderon, 26, Ramon Celedon, 40 and Dung Cao, 52, along with Windsor resident Rafael Mateos-Sandoval, 32 were arrested on suspicion of solicitation of prostitution. All four were released on $1,000 bail.
anta Rosa police, Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies and the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office, all three of which are members of the Sonoma County Human Trafficking Task Force, cooperated in the operation, police said.
