Berkeley (KRON) —Berkeley police are investigating two sexual assaults at off-campus UC Berkeley fraternities.
The cases are not related, according to police.
Police are being very tight lipped about exactly which fraternities these alleged assaults came from.
On Friday evening, police say a U.C. Berkeley student was attending a social event when she was assaulted. She woke up Saturday and reported the unwanted sexual conduct.
On Saturday morning, another student was at a fraternity event when police say she was assaulted by an acquaintance.
Police are not saying what fraternities these are, but they are reminding students that 80 percent of sexual assault and rapes are by someone known to the victim, and on college campuses 90
percent of survivors know their attacker.
This is just the latest in a string of crimes happening near the U.C. Berkeley campus
