Storm causes 200K power outages across Bay Area


SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Nearly 200,000 people were without left without power over the course of this weekend’s storm.

More than 99 percent of Bay Area power outages associated with this weekend’s storm have been restored, a Pacific Gas and Electric spokesman said Monday morning.

Between 5:45 p.m. Thursday and 9:30 p.m. Sunday, 174,581 Bay Area PG&E customers were impacted by electrical outages, 173,909 of whom now have service.

More than 670 Bay Area customers were in the dark at 4:30 a.m. Monday, including 345 in the South Bay, 202 in the East Bay, 112 on the Peninsula and 13 in San Francisco.

Scattered showers are lingering across the Bay Area Monday morning. Dry weather is expected to return by Monday afternoon.
