MARIN COUNTY (KRON) — Three males were killed in a car crash Tuesday morning west of Lagunitas, an unincorporated community in Marin County.
The driver of the car was Chance Pierre Maurer, an 18-year-old resident of Novato. The passengers were brothers Lancelot Argall, an 18-year-old resident of San Anselmo and Chancellor Argall, a 20-year-old resident of Woodacre.
The crash was reported at about 12:15 a.m. at the entrance of Samuel P. Taylor State Park, on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.
The 2013 Toyota Corolla was traveling westbound on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard when the driver lost control.
The car crashed into a ditch, struck a tree and split in half, CHP officers said. Only one car was involved in the crash.
Investigators believe speed may have played a factor in the crash.
All lanes of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard were closed in both directions. Lanes were reopened by 5:50 a.m.
A passerby who came upon the crash called 911. All three victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for the brothers.
