PALO ALTO (KRON) — Palo Alto police are searching for a man who went up to a 10-year-old boy on a sidewalk and harassed him, police said on Tuesday.
According to police, the suspect placed his arms around the boy without touching him, made a “guttural noise,” and then walked away into the bushes of an apartment community on Monday afternoon, police said on Tuesday.
At around 3:10 p.m., police got a call about a suspicious person that had been seen about 20 minutes earlier in the 900 block of Webster Street. Officers could not find the suspect when they arrived, police said.
The boy was walking by himself on Webster street, police said. When he got home, the boy immediately told his parents what happened.
The boy described the suspect as a white man in his 20s, with a clean-cut appearance, and wearing a blue shirt.
Police are trying to make a sketch of the suspect.
Detectives are trying to determine if this is connected to other cases.
