About 2,000 without power in San Rafael and Novato

SAN RAFAEL (KRON)—About 2,000 people have lost power in the San Rafael area Thursday afternoon, according to the fire department.

The outage happened around 2:30 p.m.in San Rafael, Novato and Marinwood which is an unincorporated Marin County community.

PG&E said a broken distribution line that feeds San Rafael and Novato caused the outage.

Crews are trying to figure out how the line broke.

PG&E is slowly restoring power to customers

About 2,037 customers are without power.

When it first hit, 4,000 people were without power.
