SANTA ROSA (KRON) — A man was killed when he crashed his car into a traffic light police early Thursday morning in Santa Rosa, police said.
The crash happened on Stony Point Road at West Third Street at around 1:46 a.m., according to police.
Victor Daniel Olivera-Pineda, a 32-year-old resident of Santa Rosa, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The car, a white 2000 Plymouth Voyager minivan, was traveling north on Stony Point Road when it crashed.
The car went straight through the intersection at West Third Street when it left the roadway and crashed into a traffic light pole on the northeast side of the intersection.
The east side of the intersection is closed, but should be opened soon, police said.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
