VIDEO: San Jose airport unveils robots to help passengers

SAN JOSE (KRON) — San Jose airport has deployed some cutting-edge technology designed to help travelers navigate through the growing amount of goods and services available, as a trio of robots was unveiled.

They were deployed before curious passengers at the gates inside Terminal B on Tuesday. It is the latest innovation in air travel.

Norma, Piper, and Amelia are robots, and they are here to help passengers.

The robots are equipped with an easy-to-use touchscreen, not unlike the one on your phone. Passenger Bernice Clark was among the first to try them out.

Besides help with coffee or where to find the bathroom, the robots are equipped to pass along reminders from the TSA, and they can communicate in six different languages.

In an age where airports resemble shopping malls, Norma, Piper, and Amelia will be happy to help you pass the time by taking a selfie with you.
