SAN MATEO (KRON) — San Mateo police are looking for a man and woman accused of robbing a retail store at the Hillsdale Mall on Saturday night.
Police said the armed robbery happened at around 6:30 p.m when the two robbed an employee at gun and knifepoint. When officers arrived, the victim told them that a man and woman entered the store and forced him or her into the back room.
“The suspects asked the employee for the safe, but there was no safe inside the store. Upon learning that there was no safe, the suspects left the store without stealing anything,” police said in a press release.
No one was hurt during the incident.
Officers were not able to find the suspects but have released sketches of them.
The first suspect is described as a black woman, about 60 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, skinny, and with black hair tied in a bun. She had missing teeth on the right side of her mouth, police said.
The second suspect is described as a black man, about 60 years old, about 6 feet 6 inches tall, slender, with short and curly salt-and-pepper hair.
He was wearing a zip-up sweater and jeans, police said.
