LINDEN, New Jersey (KRON) — Police have released body camera video of officers’ first encounter with New York bombing suspect Ahmad Rahimi.
He is accused of setting off a pipe bomb in Seaside Park, and a pressure-cooker bomb in the Chelsea section of Manhattan on Sept. 17.
The video was taken two days later after the owner of a New Jersey deli found him slouching outside his business.
He called police after recognizing Rahimi as the man wanted for the attacks.
Linden police officer: What’s your name?
Ahmad Rahimi: Ahmad,
Linden police officer: What’s your last name?
Ahmad Rahimi: Khan … Khan.
Linden police officer: You got ID on you, or no?
Ahmad Rahimi: No… No ID.

Ahmad Rahimi: No. I don’t.
Linden police officer: Where do you live?
Ahmad Rahimi: I’m homeless.
The video ends right before the shootout between Rahimi and police.
The 28-year-old suspect spent a month recovering from seven gunshot wounds.
