Three people arrested during a car chase in Mountain View in a stolen car

MOUNTAIN VIEW (KRON) — A car chase in Mountain View resulted with three people arrested after police discovered the vehicle was stolen, Thursday afternoon.

According to police, around 1:45 p.m. an officer checked the license plate number of a vehicle that almost collided with the officer. After the scan, the officer learned that the white Honda was reported stolen from San Jose earlier that morning.

Police said the officer pursued the vehicle that was occupied by three males.

The white Honda quickly turned onto Rengstroff Avenue and then into a neighborhood along Latham Street, police said the vehicle ran a red light.

The chase quickly ended at San Antonio Road when all three suspects exited the vehicle and ran.

Police apprehended the front passenger, 31-year-old Mitchell Sharpe on the median of San Antonio Road. The other two suspects fled into a construction site nearby.

The Mountain View police department followed by the Palo Alto and Los Altos police departments set a perimeter and searched the construction area.

Two other suspects were later apprehended, 18-year-old Robert Mejia and a 15-year-old minor both from San Jose.
