SAN MATEO (KRON) — A big rig caught on fire near the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge and is causing major delays throughout the area on Friday.
Two to three lanes have been closed on CA 92 Eastbound, according to California Highway Patrol.
The big rig truck was engulfed in flames and pulled over to the right side of the highway.
The fire was caused by the big rig’s engine and diesel fuel spill, KRON4’s Haaziq Madyun reports.
The fire caused major delays and backups from HWY 101
All lanes on CA 92 Eastbound reopened at approximately 12:40 p.m.
