SANTA ROSA (KRON) — A car hit two trick-or-treaters in Santa Rosa on Halloween night, according to police.

Police said the collision happened at around 6:50 p.m. in the intersection of Raindance Way and Tuxhorn Drive.

When officers arrived, they said they found out that a car, driven by 60-year-old Thomas Vinci, was traveling westbound on Tuxhorn Drive and made a left turn onto southbound Raindance Way as a group of trick-or-treaters was crossing at the intersection. The car struck two girls, ages 4 and 9, police said.

The 9-year-old was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Her condition is not known at this time, police said.

The 4-year-old was not hurt.

“Although witnesses said the girl had been rendered unconscious for a short time after the collision, she was conscious and talking prior to be taken to the hospital,” police said in a press release.

It was rainy and dark at the time of the collision, police said.

Alcohol nor cellphone use were factors in the collision.

The driver stayed on-scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.
